Dental anxiety
Dental anxiety, or phobia, is real. Often we think we are the only one that feels scared at the dentist or anxious about treatment. Feeling like this is extremely common, and is never something you should feel embarrassed about or ashamed of.
How can we help?
Our entire team loves helping people who dread coming to the dentist. We aim to change your fear from the moment you speak with our reception team.
We think communication is key in order to understand how we can help and what your concerns are. We start with a non invasive, pain free consultation to assess where we need to help and then where you would like us to help. We will explain all costs and outcomes before starting any treatments or appointments.
Can sedation help with fear of dental treatment?
Sometimes talking through our anxieties and using calming techniques is not enough. This again is something you should not feel ashamed of. We offer intravenous sedation – this is a fantastic way of building your confidence and changing the way you view and prepare for dental treatment. Intravenous sedation involves giving you a sedative drug which calms and relaxes the anxieties or phobias you may experience. It will help you to have the dental treatment you never thought you’d be able to previously. We ensure this is done safely and under the supervision of highly trained staff.
